From f.f.d.wit@stud.tue.nl Wed Dec 04 13:35:16 1996 Here's the third and probably last of my "colour" series, I hope you enjoy it! -------- DISCLAIMER: Mulder, Scully Skinner and the lot belong to Chris Carter, 1013, and/or Fox. I do not intend any copyright breach or any other potential law breaking, and use their existence just for fun (my own and hopefully of others). If you distribute, please keep my comments, e-mail address and disclaimer attached. REMARK: (again) This is a story out of a series, but 'readable' in separate. This is just a monologue of one of the Scully brothers. CLASSIFICATION: No plot, no x-file, no MSR, not much of anything, just an analysis of the relationships and situations around and in the office of our favourite agents. The 'me' is Charles, which is youngest of four (I think). RATING: G, maybe PG since the story is not really meant for chil- dren to read. "The colours of the X: Red" by Florens de Wit Helping out mother with the preparations for Christmas isn't that bad. Putting up the decorations in green and red is even kinda fun. The colour red is a special one for the Scullys. I have some shade of red in my hair don't I? Dana has the shade of red that matches her intense interest in anything she starts with. She even defied our father by joining the FBI, something that I could figure out, but no one else seemed to know why. I 'had to' get noticed too and tried to be better all the time... didn't succeed always though. Dana probably will bring Mulder like last year. I never minded him... though everybody had a time when they hated him I know that for sure... When Melissa had died by the hand of a assassin, most of them had blamed Dana and then Mulder and then whoever shot her... I skipped Dana personally and did twice as well blaming Mulder... and regret ted it twice as much too... I never could figure out what it was be tween the two of them and Dana never talks about it but I can see that the bond goes beyond 'just collages'. When I look at them I could swear that they were married... without the rings. Their 'friendship' goes far beyond the normal one. They do love each other but never were 'In love', quite extraordinary. They will never admit it but their relationship is the most solid and lasting that I know. I certainly hope that Bill will keep from the remarks he made last year. He had had a little too much to drink and kept trying to get the conversation on the sexual part of the relationship between Dana and Mulder... he was a real jerk then. Fortunately mother put him back in his place without him loosing his face. I think she knows that Dana is never going to marry Mulder, and feels a little uncomfortable about it. She still has the ideal of a good Catholic wife in her head for Dana after she dropped it on Melissa. I don't think that she is going to meet a 'husband kinda man' though. This is the best catch she could ever get, handsome, intelligent, charming... I even think that she knows deep inside, she just doesn't want to admit it to herself. Even Mulder knows. I could tell when we talked about nothing last year when Dana helped mother in the kitchen. Simply because Dana wasn't next to him he got less impressive, more uncertain. They are so different and yet so much the same. Their both so intense that they need each other to keep their energy focused to a useful cause, to keep each other from exploding. They are like ice and fire, or more like acid and base I guess. Acid and base compensate each other but still stay active. They are still as intense but the sum is neutral. It's gona be a cheerful celebration this year. Bill's kids always bring that light to mother's eyes.... And I and up babysitting them. Not that I mind. Bill has to put up with them all day - if not, his wife has to - so they are entitled to some rest. And I am the one that doesn't bring a partner yet so fair is fair... And they sleep with their parents too so I don't have the sleepless nights that go with children sometimes... No I never minded helping mother when the time came for Christmas. Dana never minded either, except the time after Melissa died. I'm glad that my 'little big sister' found out about the man who shot my 'big big sister' ... I'm glad for the whole family... so it is 'whole' again this Christmas. I bet that Mulder's going to join in when the kids start their 'great annual Scully Christmas snowball fight. I know that I loved it as a kid when dad got home and we played with snow outside. It's one of the privileges of a big family; the different kinds of people and ages makes it much more fun. OK... The ribbons and decorations are up.... Let's see... There's something missing... Ah! stupid! The candles on the diner table! Mmm! Mother's at her best again in the kitchen... I wonder when the first will arrive.... and I wonder who it will be ... I'd put my bets on Dana... The doorbell? ... Mother's getting it ... Well speaking of the devil... My 'little big sister' and her 'husband'. "Hey Dana! Prepared Mulder for the big fight?" THE END Tell me what you think at: f.f.d.wit@stud.tue.nl
